Radleigh senior sales executive Liz Furness has been presented with a special award for her part in securing ongoing sales at Radleigh’s popular Scholars’ Gate development in Mickleover.
The site – comprising of four and five bedroom detached homes and three and four bedroom town houses in Varsity Grange – is proving so popular that Radleigh is now releasing properties off plan to keep up with high levels of demand from house buyers.
Liz, who has worked for the Derby-based house builder since 2003, said the site’s show home had attracted a constant stream of visitors since it opened at Easter, with inquiries rapidly converting into firm sales.
She said: “Since the site came on to the market we have sold most of the first phase and interest in our Scholars’ Gate development has been so high that we have had to release plots even before the houses have even been started.”
Liz – who herself lives in a Radleigh home in Belper – attributes the success of the development to the quality of the homes’ design and build, its popular location in Mickleover and the site’s impressive show home which was styled in-house by Radleigh.
She added: “People often comment that they could just move straight into our show home as it has been designed to have a real homely feel with a very calm and warming colour scheme
“They can see how its practical layout would meet their own individual needs and they’re also impressed by our eye catching and unique features such as the integral circular glass window in the dining room and the themed Narnia children’s bedroom.
“The site’s location is also a big attraction. Mickleover is regarded as a good post code with the area benefiting from a range of schools, shops and other amenities as well as an easy commute to Derby and the South Derbyshire countryside. There has also been lots of interest from NHS workers from the new Royal Derby Hospital, which is within walking distance from the development.
“With confidence gradually starting to return to the housing market now that mortgages are becoming more readily available, we are increasingly attracting first time buyers as well as families looking for bigger properties with more living space.”
Senior sales manager Hayley Scott said she was delighted with the success of Scholars’ Gate, especially given the challenging economic climate.
She added: “It is quite something that buyers are buying “off plan” because they are so anxious not to miss out on the chance of owning a home at Scholars’ Gate.
“Liz is a great part of the team and we have fantastic feedback from our purchasers, in the way she helps them make their final decision to move and works with them throughout the house buying process. We wanted to officially recognise her efforts in helping Radleigh secure so many sales in such a short period of time.”
